International Experience Canada (IEC)

International Experience Canada (IEC) is a program that provides youths with the opportunity to travel and work in Canada from the selected** Countries whose IEC season is not closed as of yet.

** Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Netherland, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

IEC is divided into 3 categories

  • Working Holiday
  • Young Professionals
  • International  Co-op

Working Holiday

Working Holiday:  Fund your vacation while working temporarily in Canada. The candidate is eligible for open work permit to work with any employer without any job offer or employment support. Please visit General Elegibility for all IEC applicant at the bottom of the page. 

Young Professionals

The Young professional category is employer-specific work permit category. You are eligible if :

  • You have a job offer from a Canadian employer
  • Your job offer is in a skill type level 0, A or B
  • You are willing to work for the same employer at the location mentioned on your job offer.

International Co-op

This is also an employer-specific work permit category. You are eligible if :

  • You’re  a student registered at a post-secondary institution
  • Your internship is linked to your field of studies and important for the completion of your studies.
  • You have a job offer from a Canadian employer
  • Your job offer is in a skill type level 0, A or B
  • You are willing to work for the same employer at the location mentioned on your job offer.

Eligibility

General Eligibility for all IEC applicant:

  • You want to work in Canada for up to 12  months **exception apply for few Countries
  • You are applying for IEC the first time **exception applies to  few Countries
  • You are between the ages of 18 and 35 (inclusive) ****exception applies to few Countries
  • You are a citizen of one of the ****selected Countries   mentioned above
  • You have a valid passport for the whole duration of your stay
  • You have CAD $2500 equivalent money  to support your stay in Canada
  • You have health insurance to cover an emergency situation in Canada
  • Not be accompanied by dependents
  • Proof and fund arrangement to support  return air ticket
